Task List Templates

Customized task lists can be created/managed from the Configuration section of Document Builder. The Task List Template feature is useful should you require customized tasks for your project, ones different than the out of the box tasks that are auto generated by DB; enabling creation of multiple checklists with different tasks for each document.

Creating Your Task List Template(s)

Open Document Builder and proceed to Configuration > Configuration > Task List Templates


Which will look like this


Select the dark blue “Add New Task List Template” button to start filling in template details


Fill in the required fields:
  1. Task List Template Name
    1. This will become the name/tag for filtering purposes later, in the Tasks section of DB
  2. Which Document Template should this list be included with?
    1. This is the primary document that the task will be associated with.
    2. Note: upon clicking into this field, you can scroll to the desired document or leverage a search bar that is atop the scrolling list of options.
Consider the optional field:
  1. Which Section Template should this list be included with, if any?
    1. This is a section within the primary document you selected in the required steps above.
    2. Note: upon clicking into this field, you can scroll to the desired section or leverage a search bar that is atop the scrolling list of options.
Here's an example of a fully completed task list template details section:

When you're done select the dark blue "Create Task List Template" button.

Creating Your Task List on Your New Template

From within your selected Task List Template, scroll down to "Task Templates to Assign" at the bottom of the page


Select the dark blue "Add New Task Template" button, this is where you will commence to define the customized tasks.


Fill in the required fields:
  1. Task Name
    1. At the discretion of the person that creates a task
  2. Who's responsible for completing this task?
    1. Define ownership of the task as the Project Owner, Guest Contributor, or Reviewer
    2. Note: Project Owner selection = Project Owner will be assigned task outright upon project creation/generation. Guest Contributor and Reviewer selections will create tasks that require assignment after project generation.
Consider the optional fields:
  1. Description
    1. This will lend any additional direction, context or detail to the assignee of the task. Only visible when the assignee clicks into the task.
  2. Due Date after project creation
    1. Optional, but highly recommended that this be customized to the number of Hours/Days/Weeks/Months from project generation that the task is due. The default value for this field is 1 month.
Once you have created your tasks for your Task List Template(s), you can proceed to generate your project(s) that have the documents and sections you identified for your list.

Finding Your Tasks

You will find the tasks are now referrable from the Tasks page, and the Solicitation Tasks section within a Project.

You will be able to search for them via the Filter settings
