User Guide: Document Builder, Guest Contributors

This article is a guide for users who have the project role of Guest Contributors. This User guide is intended to help Guest Contributors get up to speed on the key workflows of the Document Builder platform including:
  1. Navigating the Platform
  2. Writing and Formatting Content
  3. Commenting in Sections

Navigating the Platform

Once you've found your solicitation project, click on it to view the Solicitation Details page which provides high level information on the type of project, its status, and other project collaborators.

You can quickly navigate to different sections such as Documents and Question Responses in Project Stages by using the Vertical Navigation Bar on the left side of the page.

Writing and Formatting

From the left hand navigation menu, select the Documents view.
Select any of the Documents that you want to view. If you are a Guest Contributor, please note that you can only directly access documents with a green dot under “Guest Allowed”.

Once you’ve selected a document, you will see an expanded/detailed view of the sections contained within it.
A new list view on the left side, the Table of Contents view, will allow you to navigate all the solicitation’s attachments, exhibits, etc.

Note: The segment highlighted above, is the Search TOC (Table of Contents) bar.
Use this field to find specific sections of the solicitation by section title.

When you find a section you wish to access, please note the blue tag indicating Guest Contributor access. Click on the pencil icon to the right of the section to access and edit the section.

Requesting Access to Locked/Completed Sections

For sections where you don’t have access, you can request it by clicking on the kebab menu in the top right corner of the section and selecting Request Access from the dropdown menu. The Request will generate a task for the Project Editors to review and approve.

When you access a section, you will notice the following text editor toolbar loads at the top of the writing area that you can use to author your text.

Commenting

Comments can be placed on any portion of text within a section, start by selecting/highlighting a portion of text:

and then leveraging the comment bubble icon on the far left of the text editor toolbar.

Upon clicking the comment bubble, you will notice a field open on the right hand of the section. Within this field you can make general comments to be reviewed later by Procurement Staff or Admins during their review process.

Additionally however, you can leverage @ tagging of specific team members if you know who can best address your comment/question. When you are ready to submit the comment, click on the green checkbox in the comment field.
